Commercial Real Estate Slow to Adapt to Digital Changes – Authors

The commercial real estate industry is one of the slowest to adapt to the digital age, according to  authors Michael Berman, Barry Libert, Megan Beck and Jerry (Yoram) Wind.  The authors argue that companies are increasingly vying for access to real estate assets instead of asset ownership, as demonstrated by the rise of sharing economy companies like Airbnb in the lodging sector. The emphasis on access rather than ownership provides greater flexibility at a lower costs, argue the authors.
