Doorstead, a new property management company co-founded by an Uber vet, joins other startups in offering guaranteed rent to landlords.
According to Tech Crunch, the San Francisco-based property management startup, recently raised $3.3m in seed funding. The round was co-led by M13 and Silicon Valley Data Capital with participation from the Venture Reality Fund and SOMA Capital.
The company intends to use the funds to continue to expand operations and its business reach.
Doorstead is promoting the idea of “i-Renting”, offering to act as a property manager for landlords who own single-family rentals. The company offers a guarantee that properties will be rented out at a specific rate within a specific time period, and will absorb all of the risk, which means the landlord gets their rent even if a tenant can’t be found.
