Goolge’s unquenchable thirst for Silicon Valley property continued in July with the announcement that the tech giant paid $1 billion to buy up buildings and land once owned by Yahoo in Sunnyvale’s Moffett Park neighborhood, the Mercury News reported.
Verizon Communications Inc. acquired the properties on First Avenue, Java Drive, Bordeaux Drive and North Mathilda Avenue as part of its $4.48 billion purchase of Yahoo in 2017.
The campus consists of land and improvements containing office buildings totaling approximately 940,000 square feet plus a development site with entitlements to build an additional 340,000 square feet.
CBRE, brokered the deals, which appear to be the largest so far this year in the Bay Area and possibly the United States.
