Amazon.com announced on Tuesday that it has partnered with Marriott International to help increase guest access to amenities with Alexa, through its voice-controlled device Echo, in an attempt to expand its presence in the hospitality industry. Alexa is expected to initially launch at a group of 10 Marriott hotels.
Marriott is reported to have considered both Alexa and Apple’s Siri.
According to Cnet, Alexa’s voice-activated system would assist visitors in providing services ranging from turning on the lights, room service, housekeeping or calling the concierge for dinner recommendations without picking up the phone.
