A federal judge sided with Airbnb in a lawsuit brought about by the American Landlord Apartment Investment & Management Co (AIMCO), according to Endgadget. The lawsuit by AIMCO accused Airbnb of facilitating short-term rentals, thereby enabling tenants to violate the terms of their residential lease agreements with landlords. The LA federal judge ruled that it was the tenants themselves that were solely liable for the unauthorized rentals. Airbnb is protected by the Communications Decency Act, which shields internet services against liability for the content created by users, explained the judge.
