Weekly Mortgage rates inched higher during the week ending December 7, according to Freddie Mac’s latest Primary Mortgage Market Survey.
- 30-year Fixed: Averaged 3.94%, up from last week when it averaged 3.90%. A year ago at this time, the 30-year FRM averaged 4.13%.
- 15-year Fixed: Averaged 3.36%, up from last week when it averaged 3.30%. A year ago at this time, the 15-year FRM averaged 3.36%.
- 5-year Adjustable-Rate Mortgage (ARM): Averaged 3.35%, up from last week when it averaged 3.32%. A year ago at this time, the 5-year ARM averaged 3.17%.
Separately, Realtor.com is forecasting that the 30-year fixed rate will average 4.6% next year, reaching 5% by the end of 2018.
