Facebook signed an agreement with Paul Allen’s Vulcan Real Estate to be the sole office tenant of its new $246 million Arbor Blocks project, reported the Seattle Times.
The two latest Facebook buildings will total 383,900 square feet of office space when they open in 2018. Facebook already has a 335,000 square feet building on Dexter Avenue North. Once the Arbor Blocks project is completed, the social networking giant will have the capacity to accommodate 4,000 employees.
Facebook joins Amazon and Google in expanding their presence in Seattle, which is attractive to hi-tech workers because of its housing costs, which are relatively lower than those in Silicon Valley.
