U.S. home prices rose by 6.3% from September 2015, according to CoreLogic’s Home Price Index for September 2016. Another 5.2% rise is expected by September 2017, according to the report.
Despite consistent price increases over the past 5-years, home prices are still 5.2% lower than the April 2006 peak. Home prices are not expected to match the peak prices until mid-2017. However, prices are 43% higher than the March 2011 bottom.
Washington and Oregon had the highest home price appreciations at 10.3% and 10.1% respectively, said the report.
