Swedish Company Creates the First Carbon-Positive Data Center

EcoDataCenter, a Swedish company dedicated to building energy-efficient data centers, created its first ever carbon-positive data center, which integrates with the surrounding energy ecosystem to reuse the heat generated, according to an article in Sensors Online. The new data center, which promotes the reduction of total carbon commissions, took 4-years to develop.

It is estimated that data centers will consume as much as 20% of the world’s energy within a few years, making the need for energy efficient facilities all the more necessary.
