U.S. Hotel Occupancy Reaches 65.3%, Average Daily Rate is $122.70

Hotel News Resource is out with the hotel industry’s performance metrics for the week of November 6-12, 2016. In general, most metrics were higher than the same period last year:

National Metrics

  • Occupancy:  65.3%, up 1.6%
  • Average Daily Rate (ADR):  $122.70, up 3.3%
  • Revenue per Available Room (RevPAR):  $80.16, up 5%

Markets with the  Highest Double-Digit Increases in Occupancy:

  • Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA:  +11.5% (to 56.5%)
  • Seattle, WA:  +10.1% (to 83.1%)

Markets with the Highest Increases in Double-Digit Avg. Daily Rates:

  • New Orleans, LA:  +10.9% (to $163.90)
  • Nashville, TN:  +10.6% (to $145.87)
  • Chicago, IL:  +10.4% (to $168.40)

Markets with the Highest Double-Digit Increases in Rev. Per Available Room:

  • Seattle, WA:  +18.3% (to $123.56)
  • Nashville, TN:  +16.7% (to $114.91)
  • Norfolk/Virginia Beach, VA:  +15.7% (to $47.71)

On the opposite end, metrics declined in Houston, TX, Miami, FL, Denver, CO, San Francisco, CA and Oahu, HI.
